Weather
Akyaka is situated closer to Aegean sea than to Mediterranean that’s why it’s weather is the same as wether of Izmir or Kuşadası. The difference between weather in Aegean region ( Ege) and Mediterranean ( Akdeniz) is that it is more windy and sea is more cold.
Akyaka weather is always very hot in summer and especially in August. As compare to other holiday cities like Antalya, its the same in summer, but colder in winter. Akyaka is situated on the mountains so in winter cold wind makes weather more cold. You can hardly see rains in summer, but in winter it rains almost every day!
If you come in hottest months like July and August you have nothing to worry about weather, it is always hot and you feel like a grill. Maybe one thing I have to mantion in this case is that if you have heart and skin problems it is better for you to come in other months. Sea is warm till October so take care of yourself and if you still come in August don’t walk to much under the sun, try to relax near a pool. In July and August always use suncream or hind in the shadow. Especially it is very important for children. Though fresh wind comes from the sea and thanks to it Akyaka seems to be fresher that anyther cities from Mediterranean coast still sun can heart.
If you come in winter, take some warm clothers. Cold wind and rains are normal for Akyaka and Aegean region of Turkey. Akyaka houses dosn’t have central heating. Though some houses have small stations of central heating that work only for 1 house. If you do not have centralş heating, you can use air condition or “soba”. Soba is a small iron heating system that heats from wood. Also fireplace is nice for heating but also not all the houses have it. When renting a house or an apartment in Akyaka in winter ask it’s heating system. It’s very important cause even if you feel yourself perfectly in January in Antalya it’s not the same for Akyaka and Aegean.
