Beaches
Akyaka has 2 main beaches to swim and sunbathe.
Sandy beach of Akyaka.
This sandy beach that is situated in the center of Akykada, to explane better, on its sea side, is popular among those who like lazy sunbathing. Sea is not deep and is perfect for children and those who don’k know swimming.
On the right hand of the beach forest starts, in front of it there are some bars and restaurants and on the left side there’s a small marina where yachts and boats are wating for going out into the sea. From that very marina you can buy your boat trip. But about boat trips i will tell more on boat trips page. Lets turn to our beach. Beach in not big and become overcrowded in high season. If you can not find a spare place on it, go directly to the forest, there are tables for picknick, playgrounds, cafe, shezlongs and some nice places to drink something.
Chinar Beach.
Chinar beach in situated at the end of Akyaka on the road to Ogren. Ogren is also a very nice place to swim for if you got bored in Akyaka but it takes time to get there, so those who prefer stones insdead of sand, swim there. Sea at Chinar beach is deep almost at the sea shore and is good only for those who like to swim. The second difference of it from sandy beach is that water that somes from mountains makes sea colder. Its an advantage in hot summer days but is not in other seasons. Stones of this beach are not harmful for legs but if you don’ t like to walk on stones I advice to buy sea shoes in advance. Sea shoes are sold in Volkan Av swim products shop. It is situated near Shock market just at the entrance of Akyaka ( upper one, from Mugla).
